ARRIVAL
We recommend travelling by public transport. On your arrival day, during your assignment days and on your departure day, the train route between Brig and Fürgangen is free of charge. You will receive your travel confirmation by email on 8 July, which you can show for the journey.
If the mountain railway ticket counters in the valley are closed when you arrive, one additional single trip with the mountain railway is possible.
This confirmation is only valid for direct travel and until your first arrival at the assignment location.
After your arrival, you will receive a mountain railway ticket, which entitles you to free travel on the same route during your assignment period.
A limited number of parking spaces are available in Fiesch (natural parking area).
ON-SITE MOBILITY
During your assignment days, you will receive a free mountain railway ticket, valid for the entire duration of your assignment.
The ticket is valid for the mountain railways of the Aletsch Arena, the Sportbahnen Bellwald and the train between Brig and Fürgangen.
Please note: The Fürgangen–Bellwald cable car is not included in the ticket. If you need to use this cable car, please pay for your ticket yourself and then send us the receipt at volunteers@aletscharena.ch. We will reimburse the costs after the event.

We recommend taking a photo of your mountain railway ticket. If you lose the card, please show the photo at the ticket counter.
VOLUNTEERS OFFICE
During the event, our Volunteers Office will be open at set times just for you.
This is where you'll get your goodie bag, important updates – and a smile on top.

GOODIE BAG
You can collect your goodie bag during the opening hours of the Volunteers Office, either before or after your assignment. The goodie bag is not mandatory for your assignment.
The goodie bag includes:

food and drink vouchers per assignment day for the evening
Additional vouchers – depending on the number of your assignment days – will be sent to you digitally by email after the event:

WEATHER AND GEAR
Whether it’s sunshine or rain – you will be prepared. Clothing tip: dress in layers, wear good footwear, and bring sun or rain protection. You will receive a more detailed packing suggestion from us.

OVERNIGHT STAY IN THE CIVIL PROTECTION FACILITY
If you are looking for a free overnight option and only need basic comfort, the local civil protection facility is available to you.
Please note: An overnight stay in the civil protection facility is only possible if you indicated this when registering for your volunteer assignment.
Please bring a sleeping bag and your own pillow for the overnight stay.
The civil protection facility is located around 200 m from the “Fiesch, Feriendorf” train stop. Follow the signs towards Werkhof.
